MA Fashion, Enterprise and Society
What was your priority when choosing your course programme?
I wanted to focus not just on design, but on design with business. I liked the fashion specialty at Leeds. I studied my Bachelor’s degree at Hanyang University in Korea, then came to Leeds for my English language course for six months, and then started my Masters.
The Language Centre is really good. The teachers are enthusiastic and they teach you the academic style which is really helpful for a Masters in the UK.
What useful skills did you learn during your language course at the University of Leeds?
The Korean and UK academic systems are totally different, so it was useful to have thorough feedback at the beginning and to receive tips on academic writing and guidelines about referencing. (This is much stricter in the UK!)
What do you enjoy most about MA Fashion, Enterprise and Society?
My favourite part of the course is the fashion marketing content, as it’s so interesting. This semester, I have one enterprise module and three design modules. I’ve chosen optional modules called ‘Fashion Industry Analysis’ and ‘Fashion Communications and Photography’.
