Biography

Vanessa is a Senior Teaching Fellow in the School of Design and joined the University in September 2003. She has a BA in Fine Art and an MSc in Computer Animation. Prior to joining the University Vanessa worked as a Graphic Designer and has a broad experience, ranging from creating interfaces for educational products to web design and digital animation for games.

Research Interests

Vanessa’s main research areas are the visualization of data and information design.Her current HIEF4 funded research project is a multidisciplinary collaboration between the School of Design and Biological Sciences, exploring the use of graphic visualization techniques in making complex scientific research more accessible to the wider public.
