Jill qualified as a librarian after studying History of Design. She has worked in academic libraries in Manchester Metropolitan and Manchester University (including the historic John Rylands Library), and as a volunteer at the Whitworth Art Gallery, the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester, and the Design Council Slide Collection.
Jill came to Leeds in 1999 to work at the Edward Boyle Library and then the SPEME library. She then held the post of Assistant Site Manager in Special Collections (the Brotherton Library) for seven years before coming to ULITA in 2008. Jill is qualified as an Associate of the Museums Association.
Jill is responsible for the ongoing management of the Textiles Archive, including museum object documentation and conservation, enquiries and appointments, managing the exhibitions programme, collection research and promotion.
