Dan Brackenbury is a Teaching Fellow on the BA in Graphic and Communication Design and the MA in Advertising and Design. He is a multidisciplinary designer with a particular interest in film and narrative photography.
Dan Brackenbury studied at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art. With a background in moving image and photography, his practice is particularly concerned with the relationship between urban landscapes and storytelling. In 2013 he self-published an artists’ book entitled Murmurs, which explored certain cultural divisions within Hong Kong that only become illuminated at night. He has travelled widely for his work and has undertaken commissions in various parts of the world including China, Malaysia, India, Peru and the United States. He regularly exhibits and screens his work and has taken part in shows at numerous venues in Europe such as the ICA, Tate Modern, BFI Southbank and the Forum Des Images in Paris. His first solo show took place at Tapetenwerk in Leipzig in 2013.
